Bernie Kuhn, CFO and VP, Population Health at Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) Mr. Kuhn brings over twenty-five years of experience across healthcare, health insurance, technology, and other industries. His focus is on population health growth and performance as a stand-alone entity within BSMH across twelve core markets in four states in over fifty value-based programs, accountable to approximately 650K lives across MSSP, Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid. Through Mercy Health Select ACO, BSMH operates a consistent Top 10 MSSP performer while Hampton Roads Good Help MSSP is moving to Enhanced track this year, with a combined 160K lives. BSMH operates multiple stand-alone CINs, a multi-system JV via Southeastern Healthpartners, and most recently tasked with moving out of non-core markets via a commercialized Health Select Services ACO convener platform. Our consolidated function drives roughly $260M in shared savings annually. Mr. Kuhn has been with Bon Secours Mercy Health since early 2022. Having spent the last decade split between corporate CFO roles and consulting in both payers and health systems, he brings a unique health care delivery focus and has been an executive on both sides driving growth and performance. Prior to BSMH, Mr. Kuhn founded and ran a private technology startup in the health analytics sector with a focus on Medicare Advantage. Before that he was a CFO in a boutique consulting firm, a Corporate Development VP at BCBSSC, and a Senior Manager at KPMG. Mr. Kuhn earned his BA in Accounting and Information Systems at Michigan State University, completed pre-medical requirements at Northwestern University, and an MBA at the University of Florida.
